Savannah Engagement Photographer | Sammie + Warren

Sammie and I have known each other for about 7 years; we met when we were both matched up with the same big sister in Delta Gamma, making us twins. Since then, we've basically been inseparable. We recently trained for the Donna Marathon together! Sammie is one of my best friends and one of the most hilarious, light-hearted, fabulous people I know. Sammie met Warren met in college, he was in a fraternity at the University of North Florida. They started as friends, and they stayed in touch when Warren went on deployment with the Marine Corps. When he came back he asked her to the Marine Corps Ball, and of course she said yes, and the rest was history. They always have so much fun together, whether than means going out to a fabulous dinner, watching football at a sports bar, or having a casual night in with pizza and movies.

If one thing is certain, its that Sammie and Warren's happy place is Savannah, Georgia. They love the ability to drink in the streets, the fun atmosphere, and the cool shops along River Street. So when Warren was planning to propose it was pretty obvious where he should pop the question. Sammie registered for the Rock and Roll Half Marathon in November because running a half marathon was part of our marathon training plan. The half marathon fell on the same weekend as her 25th birthday, making it perfect timing to celebrate two awesome milestones at once. Little did she know, Warren was planning on proposing after she crossed the finish line at the race so they would have one more thing to celebrate! The race itself didn't go as planned; there weren't enough water stations along the way and it was unusually hot for a November race. At the end of the race, Sammie wasn't feeling as though she had done her best. Shortly after she crossed the finish line, Warren dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. After she said yes, she was again surprised by her family, who Warren had invited to celebrate the engagement with them!

So, when I was discussing their engagement session with them, it was a no-brainer where it should be. We made a day of it- we headed out to Savannah at 8am, spent the whole day there, having a good time and taking some pictures along the way.

When Sammie texted me and told me she had purchased a Mrs. Box for the session I was over the moon excited. These little boxes are so beautiful and the perfect addition to stylized photos. They're also a darling little place to store your ring while you're not wearing it. I totally recommend them!

If you've met Sammie, then you know that all celebrations, big or small, should be paired with a bottle of bubbly. Engagement session in Savannah? Champagne! Finished a hard day of work on Friday? Champagne! It's really the way to go through life, if you ask me.

They had these jersey's made for the engagement session. Save the date, May 2017! Also, about this bar. Kevin Barry's is a favorite of Warren's when they go to Savannah due to its heavy military support. He has a favorite bartender there, Brian, who is a fellow Marine and who Warren enjoys swapping military stories with.

Next was a wardrobe change and time to get some photos along River Street. If you've been to Savannah and made it up or down these stairs, you know you've defied death.

You guys. That RING. Like, seriously?!

We ended the day on the rooftop bar of the Grand Bohemian Hotel, Rocks on the Roof. Cheers to Sammie and Warren!
