Shannon + Deanna | Expecting Baby Adalynn
I met Shannon and Deanna at Amber and Jessica's wedding (you can see the blog post about that here!), when I was drawn to their spirit and love for one another at the reception. They were always on the dance floor, either breaking it down with their friends or sharing a sweet dance with one another. So when Shannon messaged me on Facebook telling me she and Deanna wanted me to photograph them for their baby announcements, I did a happy dance in my office chair. This beautiful couple wanted me to photograph them?! Pinch me!
We started the session at Spring Park Coffee, an adorable little coffee shop in the middle of Green Cove Springs. This space actually used to be a Starbucks, but it went out of business and this took it's place! Cheers to local businesses taking over and succeeding! This is Shannon and Deanna's favorite place to go to enjoy some iced lattes and relax on the eclectic furniture that is scattered around the area. The coffee shop also has a sign rewarding free coffee to the person who has the name that they write on it that day, and they offered for Shannon and Deanna to use it and write little baby Adalynn's name on it for some photos!
After leaving the coffee shop, we walked down to Spring Park to take advantage of the beautiful pre-sunset lighting (or as us photographers say, the golden hour).
Shannon and Deanna have had some trouble conceiving over the years. Its been a rocky road, but through the miscarriages that they endured, they had faith that they would be blessed with little baby Adalynn one day. Every chance they had, every birthday candle, every dandelion, they wished for her.
The love they have for one another and the excitement they have for this new addition to the family poured from them in every moment of this session.
We ended the session on the side of an old theater in Green Cove Springs, where the vines were taking over the side of the building. When they showed me the wall, it literally took my breath away. These photos are so colorful and completely evoked Shannon and Deanna's bright and cheerful personalities.
I'm so excited for them to welcome baby Adalynn into their lives on March 19th of next year!!
